Hotels and Rail Packages

For those travelers who want a hotel and rail package, Rail Europe has six different offerings, which include rail, hotel, mountain top excursions, daily breakfast and taxes. Upgrades are available to 4- and 5-star hotels and 1st class rail. Packages can be extended by adding additional hotel nights.


Glacier Express Tour


3-day / 2-night package includes 2nd class rail travel on the famous Glacier Express train and two nights in 3-star hotels. Overnights in St. Moritz and Zermatt.


GoldenPass Tour


6-day / 5-night package includes 2nd class rail travel, excursion to Jungfraujoch and five nights in 3-star hotels: two nights in Lucerne, two nights in Interlaken and one night in Montreux.


Rail Adventure


8-day / 7-night package includes 1st class travel on the Gotthard Panorama Express (train and boat), Bernina Express (bus and train) and seven nights in 3-star hotels: one night in Lucerne, two nights in Lugano, two nights in St. Moritz and two nights in Zermatt.


Tops of Switzerland


5-day / 4-night package includes 2nd class rail travel, excursions to Jungfraujoch and Mt. Pilatus and four nights in 3-star hotels: two nights each in Interlaken and Lucerne.


Grand Train Tour of Switzerland

8-day / 7-night package includes 2nd class rail travel, an excursion to Jungfraujoch – The Top of Europe, and seven nights in 3-star hotels: two nights in Interlaken and one night each in Montreux, Zermatt, St. Moritz, Lugano and Lucerne.

Switzerland and Beyond


Switzerland is the crossroad of Europe and it’s easy to connect to neighboring countries such as France in the west, Germany to the north, Austria to the east and Italy to the south.


Lyria is the high speed TGV train connecting Switzerland and France. It features daily service between Geneva, Basel, Zurich, Lausanne, Interlaken, Bern and Paris, and between Geneva and Marseille, Nice, and seasonal service between Lille and Brig.


ICE trains connect Switzerland and Germany, while Austria is connected to Switzerland with trains between Zurich and Innsbruck, Salzburg and Vienna. Trains between Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne, Bern, Basel and Milan connect Switzerland with Italy.


International connections also include overnight trains to most major cities in Germany, Austria and beyond including Netherlands and Czech Republic.
