Traveling while sleeping at night allows your clients to explore a city during the day, board an overnight train that evening, and arrive at their next destination the following morning ready to go. Not to mention, it’s one hotel night clients don’t have to pay for! All night trains require reservations and normally offer a wide range of accommodations. They vary according to the train and route, but the most common compartments are Singles, Doubles, and Couchettes. Some offer reclining seats, T3, T4, and Deluxe Sleepers.
A Single is a first-class compartment that contains one bed, a private wash basin, linens and towels.
A Double is the same as a single with 2 beds (bunked beds).
Deluxe Sleepers include a private restroom in the compartment and many include breakfast and/or dinner.
T3 compartments contain 3 beds, a private wash basin, fresh linens and towels. The T4 compartments contain 4 beds plus the amenities of a T3. Compartments are gender specific.
A Couchette is a very affordable second-class option with 6 bunked beds and a public washroom within each car. There is no distinction by gender, so clients should expect to sleep in their daytime clothes.
Reclining Seats are the most affordable option and have individually controlled reading light built into the headrest, seating/sleeping area at a higher level than the center aisle. Neck cushion (extra charge) and blanket are available. WC and washroom located at either end of the carriage.
Reservations
When you book a ticket on our website that offers reserved seats, we’ll reserve them and it’s included in the cost of the ticket. If you’re booking an overnight train, the type of accommodations available will be displayed. With a rail pass, the fare for the journey is covered, but the cost for a reservation is an additional fee at discounted passholder rates.
Booking Horizon
