Destination: Italy

With nearly 10,000 miles of rail and over 1,000 trains operating daily, clients have the freedom to sit back, relax and enjoy it all. Can you think of a more beautiful sight than arriving in Venice by train and walking out of the station to see the Grand Canal before you? And that’s only the beginning of what awaits.

The Value of Train Tickets

When a client’s rail travel is limited to one or two cities or trips, city-to-city train tickets might be the perfect choice. With city-to-city tickets, clients will need to be comfortable having a set plan and itinerary because the earlier they buy their tickets, the lower fare they’ll pay, and the more restricted the after-sales policy will be.

E-Tickets

Now you can access a wider fare range of city-to-city tickets in Italy. E-tickets are offered on Italo and Trenitalia trains. They are available as Print at Home e-tickets. Refer to the Overview of Products section for more information on e-tickets. When purchasing online, e-tickets will be displayed as a delivery option whenever available.

Reservations

Reservations are required for most trains in Italy, so when you book a ticket on our website that offers reserved seats, we’ll include that reservation in the cost of the ticket. If you’re booking an overnight train, the type of accommodations available will be displayed. With a rail pass, the fare for the journey is covered, but the cost for a reservation is an additional fee at a discounted passholder rate. Just click “Yes” to “Are you traveling with a rail pass?” for the proper fare. Italian trains require the traveler to hold either a ticket including a reservation or a rail pass with a seat/sleeper reservation for a specific train departure date and departure time. Passholder seats/sleeper reservations are limited and we recommend advanced purchase.

Rail Passes

The Italian rail network awaits your clients with any of our Italy Rail Passes. With an extensive rail network, your clients can go practically everywhere – from the chic cities to the spectacular verdant countryside.

The Value of a Rail Pass

Especially in Italy, rail passes make the most sense for clients planning to visit 4 or 5 cities, and who want the flexibility and freedom to choose their travel days and change plans. For example, your clients can travel south to north, from Naples to Rome to Florence to Venice, always on high speed trains, all with the purchase of a single Eurail Italy Pass. Along the way, they can stop in Pisa to marvel at the famous leaning tower, and Milan, Italy’s sophisticated fashion capital. Lastly, pass prices are even lower when they’re for two or more people traveling together.

Eurail Italy Pass

Why not help your clients save money by recommending an Eurail Italy Pass, the most affordable way to see the country? Simply show your clients the price comparison for first class round trip adult tickets from Milan to Naples versus the price of 3 days of unlimited first class rail travel, and they’ll be sold. Eurail Italy Saver Passes are also available for as few as two people traveling together. Eurail Italy Pass options include:

    • 3, 4, 5, or 8 days rail travel within a 1-month period
    • Choice of 1st or 2nd class
