Destination: France

France conjures up images of rolling vineyards, fine food and incomparable art. This is a nation to see in its entirety. Why let your clients settle for Paris alone when they can bike the Loire Valley, ski the Alps, or wander along the beach in the South of France? They’ll watch the landscape change from their train window and relax as they are transported through the unparalleled beautiful scenery that is France.

Help your clients customize their visit to France with a rail pass or train ticket to travel between cities and city tours for sightseeing.

TGV: The Fast Track to France & Beyond

The TGV network is the cornerstone of the European rail system and the densest high speed network in Europe. It connects Paris to over 200 cities within France, and beyond its borders to neighboring cities such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Geneva, Milan, Monaco/Monte Carlo, Zurich and more. In fact, Paris is only 2h20min to Strasbourg, 1h30min to Nancy, and just 45 minutes to the Champagne region of Reims. And TGV trains offer fast, comfortable, eco-friendly, city-center to city-center connections.

The Value of Train Tickets

When a client’s rail travel is limited to one or two cities or trips, city-to-city tickets might be the perfect choice. With city-to-city tickets, clients will need to be comfortable having a set plan and itinerary because the earlier they buy their tickets, the lower fare they’ll pay, and the more restricted the after-sales policy will be.

E-tickets are available on many trains to, from and within France. They are available as Print at Home e-tickets or as Print at the Station e-tickets. Refer to the Overview of Products section for more information on e-tickets. When purchasing online, e-tickets will be displayed as a delivery option whenever available.

Reservations are required for most trains in France, so when you book a ticket on our website that offers reserved seats, we’ll include that reservation in the cost of the ticket. If you’re booking an overnight train, the type of accommodations available will be displayed. With a rail pass, the fare for the journey is covered, but the cost for a reservation is an additional fee at a discounted passholder rate. Just click “Yes” to “Are you traveling with a rail pass?” for the proper fare. French trains require the traveler to hold either a ticket (including a reservation) or a rail pass (with a seat/sleeper reservation) for a specific train departure date and departure time. Passholder seats/sleeper reservations are limited and we recommend advanced purchase.

Rail Passes

The French rail network awaits your clients with any of our Eurail France Passes. With an extensive rail network and over 3,000 railway stations, your clients can go travel extensively – from chic cities to the countryside and vineyards.

The Value of a Rail Pass

Rail passes make the most sense for clients taking multiple rail journeys, and who want the flexibility and freedom to choose their travel days and change plans. For example, a France Rail Pass allows your clients to travel from Paris to Bordeaux to Nice to Dijon and experience the high speed TGV trains (all with the purchase of a single France Rail Pass and discounted passholder fares). Along the way, they can make a last-minute travel decision and visit Avignon, the charming walled city and Lyon which is noted for its fine cuisine and locally produced Beaujolais and Maçonnais wines.
